At Polderlicht, you can organise a small-group retreat on the Belgian coast, in the tranquillity of the Uitkerkse polders. Between Bruges and Blankenberge, there is space for your group, your facilitator and your programme.

A natural polder garden of 7,000 m²

The garden is an integral part of your stay. Begin your day with morning yoga, walk barefoot through the grass or come together for meditation. There is space for women’s, men’s and mixed circles, singing, bodywork and breathwork outdoors.

Walking meditation or a circle on the grass: make the garden part of your programme. Between sessions, you can eat together outdoors or sit on the terrace. Terrace furniture is provided. A campfire is also possible; agree on the practical arrangements with Carine in advance.

A spacious studio of approximately 60 m²

The studio provides indoor space for yoga, meditation, bodywork, breathwork and family constellations. It can also accommodate a singing circle, cacao ceremony or creative session.

You bring your own facilitator and programme. Agree on the use of the studio and garden with Carine in advance, and alternate between indoors and outdoors to suit your group and the weather.

For your group and your programme

Polderlicht welcomes small groups with a wide range of interests. Tell Carine what you have in mind; she will help you think through how your programme can fit into the house, studio and garden.

Discuss your retreat with Carine

  • Yoga and meditation — a yoga weekend or meditation retreat, with time for movement, silence and walks.
  • Women and men — a women’s weekend, men’s weekend, women’s circle or men’s circle. Mixed groups are equally welcome.
  • Family constellations, bodywork and breathwork — guided sessions with your own facilitator and time to rest in between.
  • Singing, cacao and tantra — singing or mantra circles, cacao ceremonies or a small-group tantra retreat with your own facilitator.
  • Creativity — a painting weekend or a retreat bringing together art, nature and meditation.

Four rooms for up to eight people

For a retreat arranged in advance, four rooms are available for a total of up to eight overnight guests, including facilitators. The three regular guest rooms are Vijver, Tuin and Akker; the fourth room is available by enquiry only, to be arranged with Carine through your retreat enquiry.

One double bed has one mattress. The other three double beds each have two single mattresses. These are not eight separate beds; an entirely separate-bed arrangement is not guaranteed. Discuss which room allocation suits your group.

Carine as your host

Carine de Meester is an artist and the host of Polderlicht. Yoga, meditation and personal development have long been part of her life. She completed a year-long training course in family constellations and has been engaged with this subject for some time. Groups focusing on family constellations, bodywork and breathwork are warmly welcome.

As the organiser, you shape the content and facilitation yourself. Carine welcomes your group and helps you plan your stay; her training is biographical background, not an offer of sessions or therapy. A painting workshop with Carine can be discussed in advance, for up to six workshop participants.

Visit the sea or Bruges, and explore the polders

A walk along the water’s edge or some fresh sea air on the beach: the coast can be a lovely part of your retreat. Closer to home, walk through the polder landscape or enjoy the peace of the garden.

Plan your retreat at Polderlicht

Send Carine your preferred dates, the number of participants and facilitators, and a short description of your programme. Explain how you would like to use the studio and garden, and whether you would like to pitch tents in summer. Together, you can discuss the options, availability and price for your group.
